In the last episode, we spoke about Joseph and the importance of not losing God’s presence. Had Joseph lost that presence, he would have yielded to Potiphar’s wife’s temptation; he would not have chosen to flee to protect his integrity. Instead, he chose to lose a temporary privilege rather than lose the destiny God had prepared for him. Between the promise and the fulfillment There was a promise over Joseph’s life. God had already shown him, through his dreams, where He was leading him.
Stages and purposes of the process:
Between the promise and its realization, there was a process. This process involved several stages: slavery, false accusations, imprisonment, humiliation, and waiting. Each stage had a purpose. Each trial was shaping his character and preparing him for the responsibilities he was to receive. Had Joseph chosen the easier path, had he given in to the temptation, he might have gained some temporary advantages, but he would not have reached the destiny God had prepared for him. This shows us that sometimes, what appears to be an opportunity can turn into a distraction that causes us to stray from God’s plan. There are stages you cannot avoid
We often ask ourselves: “Why am I going through all these trials?” The answer is that certain stages are necessary. They may be painful and time-consuming, but they are part of the process of being shaped. We often try to run away from the pain or look for shortcuts. Yet, some shortcuts end up making the journey longer. When we skip a step, we may have to go back and learn the lesson we didn’t want to learn the first time. Therefore, do not despise the stage God has placed before you today. It may seem difficult, but He is preparing you for tomorrow.
Forgiveness in the Journey
Joseph’s final lesson: forgiveness Even when Joseph reached the position God had promised him, the process was not over. He had one more stage to go through: forgiveness. When his brothers appeared before him, he had the power to take revenge. But he chose to forgive them. This poses a profound question for each of us: After enduring all the suffering and arriving where God has led you, are you able to forgive those who hurt you? Can you extend a hand to those who tried to block your path? Or will you choose to do to them what they did to you?
Forgiveness is one of the ultimate proofs that the process has truly done its work in a person’s heart. Do not let distractions take you off the path Everything that happened to Joseph could have become a distraction that caused him to abandon his destiny. But he remained faithful.
Reflection of the day: Today, take a few minutes to examine your own life. Is there a step you skipped? Is there a lesson God was trying to teach you that you didn’t accept? Is that why the path seems to be getting longer? Some steps are painful, but they are necessary. When you accept them, they prepare you for what God has in store for you.
We hope this reflection encourages you to keep moving forward in your process.
