Trust the Process series #12

October 14, 20263 minute readBy Rolanda Desir Andre

In the last episode, we spoke about God’s faithfulness within the process. We discussed that to avoid failure or dropping out of the process, it is crucial to know who God is. We must acknowledge what belongs to God: He is faithful. He cannot lie. He is the One who brings to pass what He says He will do. When you believe in God’s faithfulness, your perspective on situations changes. Even when you are in pain, we showed that your character is being shaped. We discussed various examples of God’s faithfulness during the process. However, relying on God’s faithfulness does not mean everything will always go exactly as you wish.

There are difficult moments; there are times that seem dark. Yet, when you know who is with you, you can remain calm. You keep moving forward because you know who is by your side. The One who began the work is the One who is faithful. This means the One who started the journey with you will not abandon you halfway through. You may be in a difficult situation, but even while you are in it, God continues to work. God is shaping your character. Sometimes you do not see His presence, but that does not mean He is not there. I remember someone telling me about the various situations they were facing; immigration issues, political problems, and many other challenges.

In such moments, one might naturally expect a person to become discouraged, fall into depression, or feel overwhelmed. Yet, despite all that, they kept running their business. They kept moving forward. Why? Because they continued to worship God. They rose above what might be considered normal. In a situation like that, many people might simply stay home and do nothing; but this person kept working. This teaches us something: it is all a process. Even before everything comes to fruition, God shows us that He has not forgotten us. Yes, there are difficult times. Yes, there are moments when everything seems dark. But there is always a small light of hope, a glimmer of hope. As you go through your own process, look for that light.

Instead of focusing only on what you lack or complaining about what is missing, look at everything God has already placed in your hands. Look at everything you possess within the process itself. This is possible because you know who God is. You know His faithfulness. You know He has said He will not forsake you; He has said He will not abandon you. Therefore, hold fast to Him. And when I say “hold fast,” I mean truly clinging to Him and continuing the journey by His side. Because He says: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” To keep your heart from being troubled, you must believe in Him. You must have faith. You must be assured of His presence. Do you understand? This means that before we even reach the point of wanting to give up or speak against God, we need to remember who He is. We will discuss this further in another episode.
