Trust the Process Series #14

October 19, 20263 minute readBy Rolanda Desir Andre

In the previous episode, we touched upon how your environment can influence you during the process; how it can slow you down, divert you from your goal, or even overpower you. Now, the question is: What is dominating you? Are you the one mastering negative thoughts, or are negative thoughts mastering you? Does the process make you forget who began this good work within you? Or do you remain steadfast, knowing who you are, so as not to lose sight of the present moment? When you look at the process you are in, how do you hold your ground?

A worship that persists despite the circumstances. When you worship or pray in these moments, it is not because you are free of problems, nor because people understand you or know everything you are going through. Some people act as if they know everything; they think they are superior to others and pass judgment on everyone. But I tell you: keep your focus. Keep your focus. Do not let anyone pull you out of the process. Yet, how can you endure this process? Because you cannot sustain the things I am speaking about without faith. And to nourish that faith, you must seek out the source; you must find a place to feed that faith. To nourish this faith, you must be willing to let go of certain things you possess. For this faith cannot coexist with blasphemous words, doubt, or a heart that has simply given up on everything.

In Psalm 116, we see David. Amidst all his distress, he prays. Through all his suffering, he continues to love God. So, while you are in the process—while things are difficult, while you are waiting; what is your attitude? How do you act while waiting between the promise and its fulfillment? How do you think? How do you respond to problems? Do you forget the Lord’s love? Do you forget what He says every day that He loves you? Yes, you may be suffering. Yes, people may not understand you. But do you allow suffering to dominate you to the point where you lose your identity? That is what I am talking to you about: ensuring you do not drop out of the process, miss the stage of formation, or have to repeat the same grade over and over. Those who have gone through the baccalaureate exams know this feeling. When names are called out for the results, some people dread hearing theirs because they know they will have to repeat the year. I pray that you understand what I am saying and enter into this dimension so that you do not reach a point of great progress only to fail to hold on because your faith has weakened. But remember this: “Faith comes from hearing, and what is heard comes from the word of God.” During the painful process , during those moments when everything seems difficult, what are you hearing? Who are you listening to? What words are entering your ears? What words are playing in your mind? I look forward to you answering these questions in the next episode. Thank you for following us.
